BlackBerry Niagara To Be Called Tour?

Did you think that the “Niagara” was a good name for the BlackBerry Niagara? We know that it’s a codename, but what of the actual product name when it’s released? Well, it’s still unconfirmed, but a rumor has surfaced that it will be called the BlackBerry Tour. It does sound a little weird at first, you considering the music promotion that RIM has been doing, especially with U2, maybe they do have something going on with the name. Would you prefer it to be called the BlackBerry Tour, or stick with the current BlackBerry Niagara?

BlackBerry Niagara Spotted On Street

It might sound a little cheesy, and it probably is, but we wouldn’t want to miss out on a light-hearted moment and sit back and enjoy live pictures of upcoming devices every now and then. Next up we’ve got the BlackBerry Niagara pictured again the street named Niagara Street, now isn’t that just corny? Whatever, we certainly won’t be thinking it’s corny one the device is safely in our hands.

BlackBerry 9630 Review

The folks over at Boy Genius have managed to get their hands on a BlackBerry 9630 before the device is officially launched, and have come up with a rather comprehensive review. Of course, the device that they’ve got on hand isn’t a final release, so there are bound to be a couple of bugs here and there. But after you’ve taken that into account, the device seems like a real solid one and it looks like Verizon has a winner on their hands, and it’s something that will keep AT&T looking over its shoulder. The only downside that you can see outright from the phone is that it lacks Wi-Fi. It’s disappointing not to have Wi-Fi, but if you’ve got a nice data plan, you probably wouldn’t use it too much.

We’ve been waiting patiently for it, and now our patience has been rewarded! Real pictures of the BlackBerry “Niagara” 9630 have finally surfaced. A quick glance at this CDMA BlackBerry and you’ll think it’s the offspring of an affair between the BlackBerry Bold and Curve 8900. Hopefully more pictures of this exciting BlackBerry will surface sooner rather than later.

BlackBerry 9630 Is The Niagara

You might have read about the BlackBerry Niagara, and word is out that the model number for this device is the BlackBerry 9630 (not whatever you have heard before this). The phone is said to be a Verizon World Edition, and will support CDMA 1x, EV-DO Rev. A, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, and UMTS. The bit of bad news that is pinned to this device shouldn’t surprise folks who are wary of Verizon. As far as the rumors are going, this BlackBerry will not have Wi-Fi, which certainly sounds like a move that is going to garner some backlash from subscribers.
