verizon-moto-xMotorola has this particular tradition of sending out invites to a select number of people to participate in a firmware or software update before the official rollout date, and this particular testing period is known as a “soak test” for obvious reasons. It works great since a small number of people will be able to check out just what kind of functionality the handset will be able to perform with the new update installed, and on the other hand, it can also help limit the damage if things go awry.

Some AT&T customers who own the Motorola Moto X has received this particular e-mail invite, and it remains to be seen just what this update is all about. Some say that it has something to do with the camera update which T-Mobile had already released for their Moto X recently, but we will wait and see.
