Prior to this article, we heard that Google was thinking of allowing 5 different manufacturers to produce the next Nexus smartphone. Now we have another bit of information that comes from a person the folks over at TalkAndroid claim is a reliable source. He apparently said that we can expect to see all five devices on November 5th because on that date this year, it will be the fifth birthday of Google’s Android OS. Suddenly everything makes sense doesn’t it?
For now, we are not sure if the source means that the devices will be announced on the fifth of November or whether it will be released in the market but in the situation that this source is right, it would make sense. The last Nexus smartphone which is the vastly popular Samsung Galaxy Nexus was announced last year on October 18 and by mid-November; it had made its way overseas. If you’re looking forward to this rumored date as much as we are, go ahead and mark your calendar for the fifth of November 2012.
