Samsung Registers Even More Galaxy Names
Samsung has gone crazy over the last couple of months filing trademarks for potential names for various devices, some of which carry the prefix ‘Galaxy’ belonging to additions to Samsung’s successful range of Galaxy devices. Recently, we have seen the Korean electronics giant, trademark Samsung Joy, Samsung Fresh, Galaxy Axiom, Awaken, Heir, Rite, Emerge, Stellar and Halo. While there is no official word as to where the names will end up, this just goes to show that Samsung is serious about their device lineup this year.
On top of all those names, Samsung has filed for another 3 with the US Patent and Trademark Office. They are Galaxy Grand, Galaxy Premier and Galaxy Next which is already in the market as the S5570 or Samsung Galaxy Mini. As for Galaxy Grand and Galaxy Mini, those high-and-mighty sounding names are most probably reserved for higher-end devices with a small chance that either of them could even be what the upcoming Samsung Galaxy SIII will be called.
So, there is a new Samsung smartphone that is about to be released – big surprise, that, and I say this with full a sarcasm. Still, those who want something that looks to hang out on the high end side of things in terms of design and form factor, and yet having a mid-range performer within, can always settle for the Samsung Galaxy A9.
The handset has already appeared on the FCC database, which means it has been approved, and listed as the Samsung Galaxy A9. With the green light given, it is but a matter of time before it hits the market. If you would like to fancy your chances with an upcoming mid-range device that seems to hover more on the higher end scheme of things, then the Samsung Galaxy A9 would certainly fit you to a ‘t’, so to speak. After all, accessory manufacturer ITSKINS has shared more details concerning this device, with the Galaxy A9 touted to be a wee bit more compact as opposed to the Galaxy S7 Plus, never mind that both handsets will come with 6.0″ screens.
Measurements of the Galaxy A9 include 161.9mm x 81.3mm x 7.34mm, where it would be slightly taller than the Galaxy Note5, while sporting a metal and glass design, a fingerprint reader that should be able to handle mobile payments, a Full HD Super AMOLED display, and a Snapdragon 620 chipset, among others.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 will no doubt be a smartphone that many people would look forward to picking up when it is ready, taking into consideration how flagship devices are always in demand. Well, the Galaxy S7 has been said to target an early 2016 release, and some photos of the alleged device has already been snapped, although one should take into consideration that the original Weibo post is no longer there.
Of course, do take this particular leak with a pinch of salt, since it could be one of the numerous smartphones from various manufacturers that could roll out a similar looking handset. In the leaked photos, you can see a wrap-around metal border design, which seems to be the in thing at least for the next couple of years. All that we can do now is to sit tight and wait for the real deal to surface.
