iPhone Damask Edition looks expensive
If you’re looking for a uniquely designed iPhone, you might want to take a look at Sun & Moon Jewelry Studio’s creation, which is an iPhone that has been completely made from Damascus steel, which they have dubbed the iPhone Damask Edition. If you’re wondering why that sounds familiar, it’s because Nokia’s luxury spin-off, Vertu, has utilized the Damascus steel before in their Ascent Ti collection.
According to its designers, this particular edition of the iPhone has been carefully crafted with the precision used when putting together an aircraft engine. The protective frames of the phone are made from Alloy composite steel – 40H15 N14VK, with the steel’s hardness equivalent to about 225 HRC, which is basically used in machines that are used for cutting.
The Apple logo on the back of the phone is made of 16K gold, although an 18K version can also be requested along with a choice of other materials, such as palladium or platinum. The home button is also made from a natural topaz, although that can also be customized to alexandrite, emerald, garnet or sapphire. No word on how much this particular model will cost, although looking at Sun & Moon Jewelry Studio’s page, we don’t expect it to come cheap.

Digitimes also laid claim that the iPad mini 4 will not be as supercharged as some of the rumors that had been going around, as it will bring with it only small and incremental upgrades when compared to its predecessor, the iPad mini 3. This does not seem to bode well for fans of the compact tablet, taking into consideration how the iPad mini 3 itself was improved over its predecessor with a new Touch ID fingerprint reader.
Since Apple tends to roll out a new iPad in October, we will just have to sit tight and see whether this particular rumor has enough “legs” to run.
