Samsung Galaxy S3 confirmed no show at 22nd March event in France
Remember we reported that Samsung was holding an event in France come 22nd of March? Many had speculated that the Samsung Galaxy S3 could see a launch then, and to be honest we were hoping the same too. Unfortunately it looks like our hopes have been shot down as it was confirmed (again) by the South Korean company that the Galaxy S3 will still see its mid-year launch and that it will not be making its appearance at their event in France.
So what will be showcased at France? Well according to the company, the France event will be a recap of sorts, showcasing the company’s current portfolio and demonstrating the devices that they unveiled at MWC, giving a chance for those who might have missed the event at Barcelona to feast their eyes (and possibly get some hands-on treatment) on Samsung’s upcoming devices. We can’t say we’re surprised to hear that the Galaxy S3 will not be making its debut at Samsung’s France event, but it was nice to hope anyway!
So, there is a new Samsung smartphone that is about to be released – big surprise, that, and I say this with full a sarcasm. Still, those who want something that looks to hang out on the high end side of things in terms of design and form factor, and yet having a mid-range performer within, can always settle for the Samsung Galaxy A9.
The handset has already appeared on the FCC database, which means it has been approved, and listed as the Samsung Galaxy A9. With the green light given, it is but a matter of time before it hits the market. If you would like to fancy your chances with an upcoming mid-range device that seems to hover more on the higher end scheme of things, then the Samsung Galaxy A9 would certainly fit you to a ‘t’, so to speak. After all, accessory manufacturer ITSKINS has shared more details concerning this device, with the Galaxy A9 touted to be a wee bit more compact as opposed to the Galaxy S7 Plus, never mind that both handsets will come with 6.0″ screens.
Measurements of the Galaxy A9 include 161.9mm x 81.3mm x 7.34mm, where it would be slightly taller than the Galaxy Note5, while sporting a metal and glass design, a fingerprint reader that should be able to handle mobile payments, a Full HD Super AMOLED display, and a Snapdragon 620 chipset, among others.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 will no doubt be a smartphone that many people would look forward to picking up when it is ready, taking into consideration how flagship devices are always in demand. Well, the Galaxy S7 has been said to target an early 2016 release, and some photos of the alleged device has already been snapped, although one should take into consideration that the original Weibo post is no longer there.
Of course, do take this particular leak with a pinch of salt, since it could be one of the numerous smartphones from various manufacturers that could roll out a similar looking handset. In the leaked photos, you can see a wrap-around metal border design, which seems to be the in thing at least for the next couple of years. All that we can do now is to sit tight and wait for the real deal to surface.
