Apple’s Siri voice assistant feature is a function of the iPhone 4S that Apple has been flaunting. It is quite a powerful tool and for those unfamiliar, Siri is a voice assistant feature that allows iPhone 4S users to perform a variety of functions simply by speaking to their phone, i.e. compose messages, make calls, search, check the weather, etc.
Apparently not wanting to be left out of the loop, it looks like Google may have something similar planned with their recent acquisition of Clever Sense, a company who has recently released the “Alfred” Android app. If the logo has not already given it away, the app looks like an assistant of sorts and could actually be Google’s answer to Siri.
It uses Cleve Sense’s technology called Extraction and Serendipity and based on the description, it appears to perform the same functions that Siri does, with the exception that it will be for Android phones instead. For more information you can check out the video below or head on down to Clever Sense’s website.
