It looks like Sony Ericsson isn’t just all talk and is serious about getting Android 4.0 out to their 2011 line of Xperia phones ASAP. It appears that the company has recently submitted the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update to the PCRB for certification. This covers both the Xperia arc and Xperia neo, although to be honest we wouldn’t be surprised if the rest of their Xperia phones followed suit shortly.
With Sony Ericsson being rather late to the Android game, it looks like they certainly are learning from their mistakes. At the very least they could be the first, if not one of the earlier manufacturers to roll out the Android 4.0 update to their smartphones. So if the Samsung Galaxy Nexus wasn’t your cup of tea, unlocked Xperia arc and Xperia neo handsets at $350 and $300 respectively seems like a good deal, especially if they could potentially be shipped with Android 4.0 in the near future.
