One of the ways OEMs distinguish themselves from the competition is the “look” of the phone. This is achieved through the user interface, for example HTC calls theirs Sense, while Samsung refers to their UI as TouchWiz. Unfortunately as fancy sounding as these UIs are called, most Android users do not fancy them and will root their device and install a better UI when they get the chance to.
This is apparently how Verizon will market the Galaxy Nexus to Android fans, by claiming that it does not come shipped with any “OEM customization”. Nexus Android handsets were designed to provide users with a “true” Android experience. By that we mean no bloatware, no custom UIs, just Android the way Google had intended it to work. If you’re looking for a pure Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 experience, perhaps the Galaxy Nexus is the device you might want to consider.
