RIM offering a “Buy 2 Free 1″ for the Playbook

While the Blackberry Playbook tablet sports some pretty impressive hardware, its software and lack of Blackberry smartphone integration sort of caused its less than stellar sales. RIM tried to attract customers by slashing prices, which saw the Blackberry Playbook drop from $499 to an affordable $299.

We’re guessing that there weren’t too many people picking up on that deal, which might explain why RIM is now offering a buy 2 free 1 deal, where a purchase of two Blackberry Playbooks will get you another one for free. We’re not sure who needs 3 Playbooks, perhaps as a gift or maybe to distribute among staff, but $598 for 3 tablets sounds like a pretty interesting deal.
