Fan-made iPhone 5 design prototype

Nope, what you’re looking at above isn’t a leaked photo of the iPhone 5, although to be honest we can’t blame you for thinking so. What you are actually looking at in the photo above is a fan made iPhone 5 “design prototype”, which essentially is just the casing/chassis of the device with zero functionality.

This project hails from Germany by Benm.at, with the dimensions and shape based on rumors, leaked cases and mockups that have been floating around the internet lately. It is made out of a single piece of aluminum (which some are suggesting could be the unibody redesign that the iPhone 5 will see) and has been blasted in the back with glass pearls, giving it the same texture as the iPad. While we have no idea what the next-gen iPhone will look like (only four more days to go!), we wouldn’t mind if it turned out looking something like this!
