Samsung’s Galaxy S II has done exceedingly well and there’s no doubt about that. Prior to the S II, the Galaxy S has done pretty well for itself too, so if you don’t feel like dropping the cash required for a high-end Android device like the Galaxy S II, but don’t want to feel like you’re buying an old phone (Galaxy S), then Vodafone UK has the solution for you.

It appears that the carrier, in conjunction with Samsung, has launched an updated version of the Galaxy S. The difference is in the processor, with the Galaxy S running on a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, the updated Galaxy S Plus will feature a 1.4GHz Scorpion CPU along with Android Gingerbread 2.3 and Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.

The rest of the device remains pretty much the same and it appears to be free on contract.
