echo gingerbread update Kyocera Echo update to bring WiFi calling and NFC support?Despite the fact that the Kyocera Echo did not sell as well as the company had intended, it appears that in the Gingerbread update which is supposed to be going out today, it will bring about WiFi calling along with NFC support among pinch-to-zoom support in the browser, gallery, Maps and Sprint Navigation, an improved downloads app and an upgrade to the Swype 3.0 virtual keypad, with Tap Correction and Horizontal Word Choice list.

Well as it turns out, those that everything in the list above would be coming along with the update except for WiFi calling and NFC support, which Kyocera had claimed were to be experimental and not intended to come along with the device. Sure it’s disappointing, but if they’re testing those features perhaps we may see them come at a later date?
