iPad 3G Hacked To Make Calls

It looks like thanks to team iPhoneIslam that users can soon expect to make calls and send text messages from their iPad 3G devices. The software is not yet launched but it is said to be coming soon. Of course this would require a jailbreak of your iPad 3G and download the app via Cydia.

Take note that your microSIM may not have call making capabilities as some carriers provide iPad 3G plans solely for data purposes so you may need to swap out its SIM card for another that can make calls. I have no idea why anyone would want to make a phone call from their iPad but I suppose it’s a great backup phone if you’re out and your iPhone runs low on battery, although I can’t imagine anyone looking good holding the iPad up to their ear and talking on it.
