First Nokia Windows Phone 7 Device In October?

Published

on

Are you excited to see Nokia’s lineup of Windows Phone 7 devices? We certainly are and if the reports are true we should be seeing the first few devices that Nokia plans to launch some time later this year, or perhaps it could come even sooner than that? Well it seems that Nokia will be holding a Nokia World event in London come October 26th and 27th which is roughly around the same time that Windows Phone 7’s Mango update is scheduled to be launched.

The developers beta of Mango should be released to those who signed up for the beta some time this week if it hasn’t been released already, and we’re guessing Nokia probably had access to it much earlier. So what can we expect to see at Nokia World? Best case scenario we will see Nokia Windows Phone 7 devices launched already and ready for sale which was more earlier than the reports had indicated. An alternative scenario could be that Nokia will announce and preview a couple of handsets with Mango loaded on it and announce its availability for December.

Since the Nokia N9 was the first and last MeeGo phone that Nokia will be putting out it seems highly unlikely that we will be seeing any new MeeGo devices and since Nokia is in the process of passing the Symbian torch over to consulting firm Accenture, new Symbian phones seem unlikely although not impossible. We also highly doubt that Nokia would have an event titled “Nokia World” in London only to show off feature phones, right? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

LG Works On Nuclun 2 Chipset

Published

on

LG-logoLG has been rather quiet about developing its very own mobile chipset design for some time already, where the first Nuclun SoC will soon be followed up by – surprise, surprise, the Nuclun 2. This is not the first time that the Nuclun 2 name was brought up, and up till now, there has been no devices that were released with Nuclun 2 at its heart, although that might change with the upcoming V10 successor if rumors prove to be correct.

In other words, the LG V10’s successor will most probably be released some time in the second half of the coming year, which means it will be some time before it ends up as a shipping product. It also remains to be seen whether the Nuclun 3 will hit the streets in the near future, but as with most other cases, patience is definitely called for.

Samsung Galaxy A9 Gains FCC Nod Of Approval

Published

on

galaxy-a9-fccSo, there is a new Samsung smartphone that is about to be released – big surprise, that, and I say this with full a sarcasm. Still, those who want something that looks to hang out on the high end side of things in terms of design and form factor, and yet having a mid-range performer within, can always settle for the Samsung Galaxy A9.

The handset has already appeared on the FCC database, which means it has been approved, and listed as the Samsung Galaxy A9. With the green light given, it is but a matter of time before it hits the market. While very little detail has been released so far, it should not be too long now before an official announcement is made. All that one can do now is to sit tight and wait. [FCC Page]

Alleged HTC One X9 Gets A Photo Session

Published

on

What is the world’s best kept secret? I suppose that would be a subjective question, with a myriad of answers for your picking if you were to take into consideration the different industries and niches, but where smartphones are concerned, especially with the HTC banner involved, then it would be the HTC One X9 being the next handset from the company. A set of photos of the alleged device has surfaced, and in these photos, it has more or less confirmed the overall design of the device – including its SIM card slot, power and volume button locations.

Other rumored hardware specifications include a 5.5” Full HD display, a MediaTek MT6795 SoC, either 2GB or 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, a 3,000mAh battery, a 13MP shooter at the back with OIS, and an UltraPixel front camera. All that we have to do now is to sit tight and wait for an official announcement concerning the hardware, and it is good to go.
