There have been many speculations on Nokia’s Windows Phone 7 devices but now we have gotten some news with regards to their processors.
Now it seems that quite a vast majority of mobile devices these days are being powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor, with the exception of a couple that are being powered by NVidia’s Tegra processor. It looks like Nokia however will be breaking those trends and instead be using STMicroElectronics’s dual-core U8500 which has been a long time favorite of Nokia devices, to power their upcoming Windows Phone 7 devices.
However intel has indicated that Qualcomm will still be powering Nokia’s initial release of Windows Phone 7 devices, as they have been for other Windows Phone 7 devices, which makes us think that perhaps we will be seeing the U8500 on later Nokia phones.
