Home > android > Netflix Officially Arrives On Android

So iOS devices have HBO Go, well now Android devices will officially get Netflix instead.

The app allows you to stream movies and TV on straight to your Android device and even sync with your TV if you want to finish watching it some where else. You can also browse and manage your queue straight from your phone.

As of now these are the only devices that are being supported:

  • HTC Incredible with Android 2.2
  • HTC Nexus One with Android 2.2, 2.3
  • HTC Evo 4G with Android 2.2
  • HTC G2 with Android 2.2
  • Samsung Nexus S with Android 2.3

The reasoning behind this is because “In the absence of standardization, we have to test each individual handset and launch only on those that can support playback,” which further cements the argument that the Android operating system is fragmented.¬†Also take note that you will require Android Froyo 2.2 and above in order to use the app.
