Windows Phone 7 to launch in China late 2011

Microsoft’s latest mobile operating system will be heading towards the world’s most populated country late next year. During a recent speech in China, Microsoft’s communications sector director for Greater china announced that Windows Phone 7 will be launched in late 2011. The manufacturers chosen to produce WP7 phones in that region have been chosen- Lenovo, ZTE, and Huawei will be creating the WP7 handsets. At the moment in China, Symbian is the market leader with about 54 million phones and Windows Mobile at second place with 12.6 million phones. Let’s see if Microsoft can topple the operating systems at the top with Windows Phone 7. Something tells me that besides a change of language, Microsoft will have to do more in order to make Windows Phone 7 suitable for the Chinese market. Not to mention, the prices of the devices will make a big difference to whether they make or break it over there. I wonder if the phone will come with Copy and Paste or will Chinese users have to wait another few months for a patch?
