A Japanese newspaper, Asahi Shimbun, has released some news which confirms some details about the PlayStation Phone that was leaked recently. According to the report, the device will be launched in April in US and Europe, while Japan and the rest of the world will follow soon. Previous leaked images and videos are the real deal- it will have a slide-out gamepad with two touch-sensitive trackpads instead of analog joysticks. The PlayStation Phone will not support the UMD format, and games for the phone will be download-only from Sony’s custom game store. More details will be revealed at the January 6 media briefing about “how Sony Ericsson plans to enhance the Android experience for consumers.” January 6 can’t come soon enough, who’s excited?
