098 640x640 OpeniBoot allows you to run Android on your iPadIf you don’t feel like shelling out a whole wad of cash for a Galaxy Tab or any Android tablet when you already own an iPad, it looks like you might not have to in the future. A bunch of developers have worked together to create a program called OpeniBoot that will let you do so. iBoot is the bootloader used on Apple’s iOS devices. A bootloader is a simple program that works by calling up or launching more complex programs than itself (i.e. the BIOS system that starts up your computer and runs your operating system). Using another bootloader such as OpeniBoot will allow users to load up unauthorized code, such as other operating systems (i.e. Linux or Android) on the iPad. Based on some recently released footage on YouTube, it looks like we’re one step closer to making this dream come true. Now if only we could find a way to boot iOS on Android tablets. Watch a video of OpeniBoot after the break:
