Some records are great to have, but sending 217,000 text messages in one month? That’s about 583 text messages every hour. Even worse for the 2 people who attempted to get this record, they were slapped with a $26,000 phone bill, even though they were on an “unlimited texting” plan. T-Mobile is reported investigating those charges. The text messages mostly involved “LOL” and “hello” in order to hit the numbers. Some folks are complaining that it’s wasteful of company and consumer money to attempt such a ridiculous record, while some have found it rather humorous.
