We’ve all been through the horror stories of cell phone batteries exploding and killing people, now it looks like we have some good news, which is a cell phone application which could help save lives, instead of end them. MedNet Healthcare Technologies has a new service which AT&T is hoping to introduce. This will allow patients to monitor their own heartbeat, and also automatically transfer the information to cardiologists via Bluetooth-enabled cell phones. As long as customers are within AT&T networks, information will be sent to a central monitoring service, which will then relay the information to their respective doctors. Of course, the service won’t be free, and you’ll need to have a doctor who’s willing to play ball with such a service, but if it catches on, it would be a rather handy service to have in the future.
