Android Market Blocking Merchants
Story posted on: March 13, 2009. Filed in: google.

Google hasn’t been offering paid applications on its Android Market for too long, but already problems are starting to surface. Developers who want to sell their software on the Market are required to register for a Google Checkout merchant account before they’re allowed to submit their applications with a price tagged to it. The problem is that users are reporting problems linking their merchant accounts with their Android developer accounts. The error message stating “Sorry, we could not setup your merchant account. Please try again later” has surfaced many times over the past 24 to 48 hours, which is certainly frustrating for developers (and end users).
