Want the whole Linux desktop environment on your Android-powered device? Well, you’ll certainly be happy at the news that some savvy folks have managed to get X11 running on T-Mobile’s G1. You’ll need to already have the Debian shell installed on the phone before you can successfully attempt this. In case you’re thinking of running GNOME or KDE on it, you might want to consider something lighter like IceWM or LXDE, which will be a lot less demanding of your cell phone’s hardware.
