Unlock Your BlackBerry For Free
Story posted on: December 4, 2008. Filed in: blackberry.

Nobody really likes those locked cell phones, so BlackBerry owners probably want to be able to have unlocked versions of their phones too (without having to pay too much). The good news is that the MFI Multiloader tool will help you unlock your 8000 or 9000 series BlackBerry device, and you won’t have to pay a penny. The steps to unlock the phone yourself aren’t that fun, but if you’re trying to save a few bucks, then give it a try. You’ll need to download a whole 800MB worth of files from Rapidshare, install the application, boot up your Desktop Manager, upgrade your OS and you’re free to use almost any SIM card you want. You’ll also need to make sure that your vendor.xml file is deleted in the apploader folder, Desktop Manager 4.7.0.32 is installed, and your OS must be properly installed too. The list of supported BlackBerry devices includes:
- BlackBerry Storm (9500 or 9530)
- BlackBerry Pearl (8100, 8110, 8120 and 8130)
- BlackBerry Curve (8300, 8310, 8320, 8330, and maybe even 8350i)
- 8800 series (8800, 8820, 8830)
- BlackBerry Bold 9000
- BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220
