EU Aims To Make Batteries Removable
Story posted on: October 7, 2008. Filed in: apple.

Most iPhone users are probably irritated by the fact that the iPhone’s battery isn’t really meant to be removed by the end user. Now it seems like they have an additional ally to try and get Apple to make the iPhone’s battery user-removable. The European Union is proposing in its “New Battery Directive†that batteries on all electronic devices should be able to be “readily removed†for replacement or disposal. While Apple certainly won’t be too happy at this news, iPhone users will probably be dancing at the prospect get replacing their iPhone batteries for less money.
