Shoot To Translate
Story posted on: September 30, 2008. Filed in: nokia.

With mobile phones getting more and more useful, it probably isn’t a surprise to anybody to see a translating function appear on mobile phones. Nokia is looking to make translation easier for you with their new technology called Shoot to Translate, which will allow you to snap a photo of foreign text and get it translated. Languages such as English, Greek or French will require about 600kb storage on your phone, while more complex languages like Japanese and Chinese will need up to 3MB of storage, which is still tiny judging by the storage offered by today’s mobile phones.
