Google Android To Dominate China?
Story posted on: July 21, 2008. Filed in: google.

In-Stat is predicting that Android has a very real possibility of dominating the iPhone’s sales figures next year, as long as Android is well received in China. The analysis firm is predicting that Apple will sell some 9.5 million iPhones globally next year, while Android will do about 17.1 million. These figures are mainly based on the assumption that China will support the more open Linux-based platform, which is obviously cheaper. Having said that, China Mobile is still in talks with Apple to bring the iPhone to their network, so Google could have quite a battle on their hands. Google has been doing a lot of groundwork on building Android’s name recognition over there, and manufacturers working on Android sets will definitely be able to undercut the iPhone, so this prediction might actually become a reality.
