Golden Shellback Waterproof Coating
Story posted on: July 23, 2008. Filed in: others.

Here’s something that we’ve all silently dreamed about all our lives, a method to waterproof your phone. Golden Shellback is a new kind of coating that can be applied to almost anything, and will result in the device being completely waterproof, on the outside, and on the inside. There aren’t many technical details regarding how it’s done at the moment, but as long as it does the job, nobody’s going to care too much.
The cost of applying the coating will be about $50 to $75, depending on the size of the item. The downer is that it isn’t available to the public just yet, but hopefully it will be soon. Users will also have to mail the device that they want coated to them, which doesn’t sound very fun, but as long as it keeps the device alive, it’s worth it.
Check out the cool video of it in action here.
