Gekko Confirmed As The Sidekick 2008

The upcoming Sidekick sure went through a long naming process, with its rumored names including Gekko, Gecco, Aspen and Sidekick 2008. Fortunately, the naming saga has come to an end, and it’s been confirmed that it shall be called the Sidekick 2008. Confirmation comes in the form of an internal documentation for T-Mobile reps, which conveniently also reveals that it will be available on July 30th, and will feature interchangeable shells, a 2 megapixel camera, 2.6-inch WQVGA display. With a name like the Sidekick 2008, it sure wouldn’t look pretty if the phone were to be still selling in 2009.
