Bic Offering Disposable Pre-charged Phone
Story posted on: July 11, 2008. Filed in: others.

It seems that disposable mobile phones are getting more and more common nowadays. Bic has teamed up with Orange France to launch the Bic Phone, which is a disposable pre-paid phone, which comes ready-charged, and provides an hour’s free calls. The SIM card is already slotted into place, so there will be no hassle, and all the user will have to do is activate the phone.
Once users have used up the free time, Mobicarte pre-pay airtime cards can be used to keep the phone number topped it. It seems that this phone is manufactured by Alcatel, and the telephone number of said prepaid phone will be included in the packaging.
Users obviously shouldn’t expect the top-of-the-range features, but the phone will be fully capable of making simple calls and sending texts. Users will be able to choose between “Citrus Orange†or “Lime Green†color for the phone when they pay €49 (£39/$80) for a unit in France from August 7th onwards.
