Bluepod Media Using Bluetooth As An Advertising Medium
Story posted on: June 26, 2008. Filed in: others.
Bluepod Media seem to be taking advantage of the popularity of Bluetooth in mobile phones nowadays. Most phones (save for the bargain basement type) nowadays have Bluetooth. What was once a luxury feature is almost becoming the basic requirement of a phone.
BluePod Media are now using a Bluetooth server to serve advertising or marketing messages to users within the broadcast radius. With these Bluetooth servers, they are able to manage content management and data delivery audits remotely from their operations HQ in Brighton.
With Bluetooth fast becoming one of the more popular methods of distributing ads, sometimes it’s hard to imagine where the privacy bit has to come in. After all, we’re now talking about SMS spam and SMS filters, will users need Bluetooth filters in the future?
