Must Users Turn In Their Old iPhones To Get The $199/$299 iPhone 3G Pricing?

There are rumors floating around that AT&T wants to take back users’ old iPhones in order to give them the much-drooled-about $199 / $299 pricing for the 8GB and 16GB iPhones respectively. It probably would make sense, in order to keep costs down; fortunately this is one rumor (amongst the other million) that isn’t true. AT&T have confirmed that there won’t be any representative looking to take back users’ old iPhones.
The only situation where users will have to turn in their old iPhone is if they’re taking advantage of the exchange deal for folks that bought it since May 27th.
