O2 Germany To Add The HTC Touch Pro To It's Lineup

O2 Germany To Add The HTC Touch Pro To It's Lineup

It seems like O2 Germany will be adding the just-announced HTC Touch Pro to its lineup later this year as part of its Xda line of Windows Mobile devices.

Normally Xda’s diverge from HTC’s standard designs for a given model, but it seems that this time O2 has decided to stick with the Touch Pro’s design, which is probably a wise move. The only change would be swapping out the stylized rear for a more subdued soft-touch one.

Flickr Native Client Arriving On The Blackberry

Flickr Native Client Arriving On The Blackberry

For those who have been searching for a way to upload pictures from their blackberry to their Flickr account, the search can now stop. Flickr and RIM have teamed up to bring a native uploading client to the blackberry.

The software is now available on the Blackberry mobile start page, and can be installed on any blackberry that has a camera, OS4.2 or higher, and 65kb free memory. Though there isn’t anything too fancy, it allows users to tag the shots directly on their phone before sending it to their account. Simple and functional, there should be a lot of happy blackberry and Flickr users out there soon.

Verizon LG VX9700 Spotted?

Verizon LG VX9700 Spotted? Though there was some skepticism amongst initial rumors that the LG VX9700 would be making its way to Verizon Wireless, it seems that that skepticism is misplaced. Though there is no official word yet, but pictures of a Verizon branded LG VX9700 have surfaced on the internet, which seems to indicate that the rumors might be true.

Sony Ericsson Tries To Release The Most Garish Phone Ever Made

Sony Ericsson Tries To Release The Most Garish Phone Ever Made

It seems Sony Ericsson and MTV have been working hard together to try and create one of the ugliest phones on the planet. It might appeal to the younger generation, but either way, it’s on weird looking phone, oh and it’s also called the W760 MTV edition.

The phone itself has the same specs are the normal W760, which would include the usual 3.2 megapixel camera, Walkman 3.0, FM radio, internal GPS and 3G. The main difference is obviously the ugly colors and a free service that allows users to stream MTV music and videos, which might be a cool feature, if only it didn’t add €40 to the price of the phone, which would total up to €300 or $470.

MogoTXT Brings SMS To The iPod Touch

MogoTXT Brings SMS To The iPod Touch A San Mateo, Calif. Startup, MogoTXT has launched a service that allows users to send free SMS messages from their iPod Touch via a WiFi connection. Though the SMS messages are free, they will be supported by ads, which shouldn’t be much of an issue, considering that it’s free, and can be sent to a single person, or a group. The service works with regular cell phones as well, as long as they have a web browser, and the carrier isn’t Verizon.

Toy Car Handset For Kids?

Toy Car Handset For Kids?

It might not be as eye-catching as the upcoming 3G iPhone, but it will certainly be an interesting phone to whip out amongst a group of friends. With this Car phone, most people will probably think the user as a car fanatic. To be fair, it has good taste, coming out in a BMW or Audi model, at least it looks posh. It’s priced at $160 each.

Though it may look simple and like a toy, it actually boasts quite good specifications, such as:

  • Touch screen
  • 1.3 megapixel camera
  • MP3 player
  • MP4 support
  • Bluetooth
  • 1GB memory

3G iPhone To Be Announced In Italy On Monday Or Tuesday

3G iPhone To Be Announced In Italy On Monday Or Tuesday

Reports are filtering in that the 3G iPhone will be announced by the Italian carrier TIM on Monday, or Tuesday at the latest. It’s still rumored to be available sometime in June for Italy, and it’s been quite a while since Apple announced and launched a product on the same day.

Even with Apple’s sneakiness it won’t be easy to distribute around 3 million iPhones, and there hasn’t been anything in the FCC that shows an iPhone either. It would be a big disappointment if Steve Jobs didn’t announce the 3G iPhone this time round.

3G iPhone Available In 2 Sizes?

3G iPhone Available In 2 Sizes? With the WWDC just a few days away, rumors of the latest iPhone just can’t seem to stop. This time, it seems that there are going to be 2 different sizes of the iPhone: a 3.2-inch mode, and a smaller 2.8-inch model, both of which would be smaller than the current iPhone’s 3.5-inch screen. Though all this might be in line with certain iPhone-Nano rumors, it still doesn’t seem too realistic. These questions should be answered within a few days, hopefully.

Verizon's Palm Centro Going For $269.99?

Verizon's Palm Centro Going For $269.99?

There must be some kind of mistake here, as the information coming out from Verizon at this moment seems to indicate that the Centro will be going for a whopping $269.99 before a $70 mail-in-rebate when it hits the retail channels next Friday.

Considering Sprint’s Centro was going for just $99, this seems a more than a little extreme. Hopefully this pricing is just a technical glitch of some sort.

3G iPhone Arrives In The Mail? NDA Prevents Unboxing

3G iPhone Arrives In The Mail? NDA Prevents Unboxing

According to an Australian Apple fan site, an Australian reseller has already received a shipment of something (which is most likely the 3G iPhone). Why isn’t anybody reporting about the wonders contained inside? There’s this one little snag labeled on the box…

“SUBJECT TO TERMS OF NDA DO NOT OPEN UNTIL TUESDAY JUNE 10TH, 2008”

So it seems like something big will bet revealed on June 10th, and it wouldn’t be very smart to be against it being the new iPhone.

AT&T Boasting 20% Speed Boost In 3G Data Speeds

AT&T Boasting 20% Speed Boost In 3G Data Speeds

AT&T seems to be offering good value recently. They’re currently following up their supposed plans to offer free WiFi to LaptopConnect and smartphone users with a promised 20% boost in 3G data speeds. That translates to "typical" downlink speeds of between 700 Kbps and 1.7 Mbps (up from 600 Kbps to 1.4 Mbps), and uplink speeds of between 500 Kbps and 1.2 Mbps (formerly 500 to 800 Kbps).

To get those speeds, users will have to be using AT&T’s LaptopConnect cards, and probably have to be situated in some prime signal area.

Even better, AT&T says that those speeds are just a taste of things to come, as they’re planning to switch over to HSPA+ between 2009 and 2010 which will reach 20Mbps.
