Sprint Applies 5GB Data Limit

5GB data caps have been the norm for most carriers, and some will ever go as far as to charge users overages for going past the limit. Some of the more extreme actions include kicking users off the network. So far, amidst all these issues, Sprint has been a breath of fresh air, though this seems set to change with its latest memo:

“Sprint reserves the right to limit throughput speeds or amount of data transferred and to deny, terminate, modify, or suspend service if usage exceeds 5GB per month in total or 300MB/month while off-network roaming. Check your subscriber agreement rights on Sprint.com” -Internal Sprint Memo

Though it may seem all doom and gloom for some, the good news is that Sprint doesn’t have a very good track record of enforcing these things. So until Sprint actually comes out and penalizes its users outright, this doesn’t seem too intimidating.
