BlackBerry 9000 Officially Launched As BlackBerry Bold

Rumors have been flooding the internet, people have be googling over and over again for the BlackBerry 9000, and its finally here, in the form of the BlackBerry Bold! RIM(Research in Motion) has released its latest BlackBerry with support for tri-band HSDPA networks around the world, as well as GPS and WiFi, and rich multimedia capabilities.

For those iTunes fans out there, RIM has included a new BlackBerry Media Sync application that makes it easy to sync iTunes digital music collections with the smartphone, all via speedy USB 2.0

The BlackBerry Bold is scheduled to be available from wireless carriers around the world the world beginning this summer.

The BlackBerry Bold's specs are as follows:

  • 624MHz processor
  • GPS with BlackBerry Maps
  • Wi-Fi a/b/g
  • microSD/SDHC support up to 16GB
  • 480x320 screen supporting 65k colours
  • 2.0 megapixel camera with flash
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • MP3, WMA, AAC, DivX4 and WMV3 codec support
  • Bluetooth 2.0, supports stereo Bluetooth headsets
  • Supports MP3 Ringtones
  • Stereo speakers
