Apple releases iPhone SDK: Is it enough?

Apple announced that the iPhone SDK will now be available, built on a new platform dubbed Cocoa Touch, which will enable developers to offer third-party applications available through the iTunes upcoming App Store. All of the big money changes aren't happening until June, but what can the current SDK status tell us?
For one, Apple is still offering nothing in the way for Java or Flash support, but is giving developers the chance to dip their hands into the revenue pot, with a 30% share in all app sales, or of course they can offer the app for free. So, we're hoping for some non-greedy developers. Does the iPhone offer serious competition to Windows Mobile? Not just yet, but the future looks promising once Jobs gets the show on the road with iPhone 2.0 due in late June.What's your take?
