Samsung claims smallest 8 MP camera module


Samsung claims that they have developed the world's smallest 8 MP CMOS camera module for use with mobile devices. Measuring a miniscule 28 × 15.3 × 8.5mm, the new module also supports features such as face-detection, anti-shake, a ISO 1600 sensitivity and, get this, can even automatically detect smiles to ensure its time to take the photo. Samsung isn't even claiming this module as a concept, but saying the device is set to launch in Q3 or Q4 of this year, so it's coming to a high-end mobile device near you.

The iPhone is pretty expensive in its own right, but Austrian luxury designer and jeweler Peter Aloisson has added a whole new level of expense to his newly designed adaptation of the Apple device. The iPhone Princess Plus, named after the princess cut diamonds accented around the phone's border which make up 138 of the Princess' 300 diamonds. All together the device offers 17.75 carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold, ringing in a price tag of €120,000 ($176,400 USD).

European Commission sets mobile TV the standard with DVB-H You can argue that the EU is making this decision too late, with analog already on its way out in the upcoming years, but despite refutes, the EU has officially named that DVB-H be the standard for the Euro mobile TV format. Hoping to set a Mobile TV explosion through out the European homeland, DVB-H will now be looked at as the TV choice for mobile.

Telus launches Koodo Mobile discount brand


Canadian residents are fed-up with the unruly data plans that their mobile carriers offer. With a high-demand for affordable mobility, Telus has launched their new discount mobile brand, Koodo Mobile. So far, Koodo only offers three phones; Samsung U410 (CA$75), MOTOKRZR (CA$200) and Motorola W385 (CA$125), with specific budget centered features such as per-second billing, where you run up a mobile "tab".

Koodo also offers three additional wireless plans. The Talk & Text Combo, available for CA$25 per month, the Five Essentials Combo for CA$30/month and All You Need Combo for CA$65/month, all which come with standard goodies such as caller ID, conference calling, and call forwarding.
