Verizon raises unbundled texting to 20 cents a pop

Verizon Wireless is taking a stand against users who opt for unbundled SMS messaging by hiking the price up to 20 cents per message. Following in Sprint's footsteps, which recently raised their SMS prices in a similar fashion, Verizon maintains that users on a prepaid plan will still be allowed the same texting rate as before. That this is only for those who are on a contract and who don't pay for a texting bundle plan.
Currently, Verizon offers text bundle plans for 500 text and picture messages plus unlimited in-network messaging for $10 a month and 5,000 messages plus unlimited in-network messaging is available for $20 a month.Tags:
