iPhone gets a virus, score one for Apple
Story posted on: January 9, 2008. Filed in: apple.

As odd as it might sound, the appearance of this Apple iPhone virus which has been reportedly making the rounds is a good thing for the Cupertino boys. Sources say that a new virus targets the iPhone, but only iPhone's which are unlocked. This could definitely aid Apple in convincing iPhone users to not purchase unlocked devices.
Though there is a spot of gray on this cloud. It appears that the virus in question was designed by an 11-year old kid. Let the "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?" jokes roll.Tags:

well there ya go... This is only the beginning of this kind of crap. 3rd party developers should consider creating some sort of iPhone firewall/virus scan thing. That might be what we have to do, after all it is only a matter of time before a big dangerous virus or Trojan is developed
