CES 2008: Skype revealed for Intel MID concept devices
Story posted on: January 8, 2008. Filed in: others.

It has been revealed at CES, that Skype is developing a VoIP application tailor-made for the Intel MID (Mobile Internet Device) UMPC device. The devices themselves are purely conceptual, built to showcase what Intel's chips can do. The devices run on an open-source Linux operation system which allows for easy integration for developers. With Skype targeting the MILP (Mobile Internet Linux Platform), we could be seeing many more UMPC performing phone operations as well. Which is a very good thing for us phone nerds.
