Apple puts a "gag" on O2 and Carphone about disappointing iPhone sales
Story posted on: January 14, 2008. Filed in: apple.

Apple has a little secret they don't want everyone to know. Jobs and Co. have reportedly been banning UK retailers from stating any information about the flailing sales of the iPhone to the British market. Industry insiders report that Apple warned O2 and Carphone Warehouse not to tell investors the figures of disappointing sales. At least not yet.
Steve Jobs is likely to talk of the European iPhone sales figures during his keynote speech at MacWorld, but will most likely not delve into individual country sales, as the sales in the UK were lower than Apple expected they would be. Most likely because of an expensive 18-month contract. One insider even describes his UK shopping experience, "assistants pointedly steered our reporter away from the iPhone display and towards an Armani-branded Samsung phone."Tags:
