Self-cleaning Sony Ericsson phones
Story posted on: December 13, 2007. Filed in: sonyericsson.

When you get a new phone, it's only a matter of time before fingerprints and various smudge marks distort the beautiful new display. Sony Ericsson has a recently revealed patent that unveils a self-cleaning mobile phone display.
The phone display would get an auto-wash thanks to a windshield wiper-like add-on that would slide across the screen. When the phone is opened, a mechanism moves the wiper up the display, resting at the top of the screen when the phone is in use. The patent shows images for both a clamshell and a slider variation.Tags:
