Palm to unlock Treo 500 next month

With fledging market sales from Palm calling for hasty measures, Palm ha announced that they will be releasing an unlocked version of the Treo 500 next month. The unlocked 500 device will run on Windows Mobile 6, and will most likely feature the same specs offered from Vodafone, including tri-band GSM/GPRS connectivity.

Palm say the unlocked device will be available throughout Europe in January 2008. The current 500 device retail for £299.
