Ever wondered how you wish you could broadcast your achievement to friends and family over a cellphone when you've scaled to the very summit of Mt. Everest? That dream can now be a reality, as China Mobile is currently running against time to install a cellphone tower of sorts on the roof of the world. This isn't an exercise in bragging, but was done so that is will be possible for folks in next year's Olympic torch relay to make calls. The station has been identified to be located at an altitude of 21,324 feet, with China Mobile using yaks and porters to transport all the necessary equipment.
