New i-mate JAMA smartphones
i-mate has just announced a couple more JAMA smartphones known as the 101 and the 201. Strangely enough, the 101 is the more advanced unit as it is powered by Windows Mobile 6 Professional and comes with a 2.4" touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, 128MB ROM, a microSD memory card slot, and a 2 megapixel autofocus camera with flash. Too bad it is missing WiFi or UMTS, and the 300MHz Samsung processor isn't exactly a speed demon by any means. As for the JAMA 201, it shares most of the same specifications as the 101 but runs on Windows Mobile 6 Standard, while the touchscreen has been taken out only to be replaced by a standard 2.5" LCD display. You'll need to use the QWERTY keyboard for navigation on this one. No word on pricing or availability as at press time.
