BlackBerries have been around for years, but to date, no upcoming release of any BlackBerry has garnered as much attention as the BlackBerry 9000. This work-in-progress is said to feature 3G connectivity (with the assumption of North American 3G bands and not European bands) with HSDPA for a theoretical maximum speed of 3.6Mbps on-the-go. It will be powered by a rockin’ 600MHz processor that would make it one of the fastest around in town. Word on the street also has it that RIM is currently hoping to integrated a Backup/Restore function that allows users to backup everything onto an on-board memory card. No word on a release date just yet, but an early 2008 release isn’t too far off the mark.
