Apple launches iPhone Developer Website

Apple has launched an iPhone Development Center which offers tools and resources for developing applications for the phone. Apple describes the page as "your single source of information for designing, coding, and optimizing web applications for iPhone and iPod touch". This can only mean one thing; "legal" third-party apps are on the way, which means our beloved ApolloIM (among others) might be back in business soon. The Dev page offers sample code for developers to browse at their own leisure, in addition to an entire iPhone reference library.

Actually, it does not mean "'legal' third-party apps". The site is for WEB APPS, not apps written in native code. This is not new (maybe the site is, but not the web app thing). Nothing to see here. Move along.
