NEC N905iµ launched in Japan

NEC has announced the official launch of the 12.9 mm thick N905iµ handset device. The N905iµ device comes with 1Seg TV broadcasting, as well as Yamaha's audio engine, which allows for high quality sound. This combination seems like a good way to attract mobile TV viewers. NEC plans to release the phone for the Japanese market on November 26th, with no plans to move the phone international as of yet.

Nokia Music Store launches Without Warner Music

Nokia Music Store launches Without Warner Music

For those of you who didn't catch the news, the Nokia Music Store has made its official debut, though not without a few kinks along the road. If you've given the new store a try, you'll notice a big chunk of artists missing from the catalog, most notably artists like Madonna. Warner Music has withheld their catalog from the Nokia Music Store over concerns of illegal music downloads, citing inferior copy protection with fellow Nokia service, Mosh, which allows users to share media files online. Until this matter is worked out, users of the Nokia Music Store will have to wait to purchase the new Neil Young album.

Nokia 2630 thin low-end device

Nokia 2630 thin low-end device

Some new live pictures of the Nokia 2630 device have turned up. The 2630 is the thinnest phone in Nokia's entire line, measuring a scant 9.9 mm thick. The combination of the camera and Bluetooth technology allows easy transfer of photos to other Bluetooth enabled devices. This low-end lightweight packs in most of what is needed productivity wise for those of you with basic communication needs, featuring email, MMS, calendar and a calculator, while MP3 ringtones and an FM Radio feature should keep the average user interested. It's probably not the best choice for the professional user, though seems like a nice choice for someone who needs a discrete phone that gets the job done.

More images of the Sony Ericsson z750

More images of the Sony Ericsson z750

In early October we caught a glimpse of the Sony Ericsson z750 device. SE presented their phone at CTIA 2007, giving us a more up-close and personal view with their new device. The z750 is most noticeable because of its hidden external display, hidden under a reflective mirrored surface. The z750 also features POP3 e-mail support, a 2 MP camera with 4x digital zoom and a FM stereo radio. No release date or pricing information has been released, and no news yet on which network is planning to scoop up the new device.

The Pearl offers dual-band EVDO (800/1900 MHz) connectivity and allows integration with up to 10 e-mail accounts. The phone will feature a 2 MP camera and a 240x260 pixel display. It will also offer 220 minutes of talk time and 216 hours standby time. The new Blackberry Pearl will be available for purchase on November 8th for $299 with a two-year contract. For us it seems this price is a little too expensive for what this phone has to offer.

iPhone coming to Australia soon

iPhone coming to Australia soon For those of you living "down under" and curious on when the iPhone might be headed your way, Apple has been looking for a suitable network provider. A report this morning claims that Apple is in talks with Australia's Telstra mobile network, which has reportedly begun testing the iPhone on their service. Telstra CEO Sol Trujillo confirmed these rumors to Sydney's Daily Telegraph news publication, but says that the deal is not yet signed and that no final decisions have been made. In order to operate with Telstra, Apple would have to produce a phone that can utilize the networks Next G 850 MHz frequency, which needs specialized handsets to function correctly. If the iPhone does in fact land a deal with Telstra, you can expect an iPhone release next year when Apple plans to broaden the phones user base.

T-Mobile Shadow unique Neo inteface

T-Mobile Shadow unique Neo inteface With the official announcement of the HTC Shadow on T-Mobile last week, questions have arisen about its unique interface. While the phone is listed as running Windows Mobile 6 Standard, the interface for the device is considerably unique apart from other WM6 devices. Microsoft has posted some information about the Neo interface, confirming the fact that it is in fact WM6, though definitely a modified version made for the Shadow.

The Neo interface is made to interact with the T-Mobile myFaves service, which allows you to make unlimited calls to five of your most dialed contacts. With the Neo interface, you can easily make changes to your five designated contacts, while there is also an added function of micro-icons that appear on the five contacts when you have a missed call, text, or if its their birthday. Neo also take advantage of the QVGA display of the Shadow to include animations and photos right on the main screen.

Sony Ericsson LIZY M610i prototype on eBay

Sony Ericsson LIZY M610i prototype on eBay

As much as we would love this eBay seller to hook us up with their connections, we have to think what sort of laws were broken to access this phone. This Sony Ericsson LIZY M610i prototype popped up on eBay Geemany this week with a Buy-It-Now price of 1000EUR. The M610i was approved by the FCC, though has yet to be announced for a retail release. The M610i smartphone features tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900Mhz), with FM radio and a semi-QWERTY keyboard. Though, it is being rumored that Sony Ericsson has a major phone announcement coming up on November 6th, so who knows. The M610i might be rolled out before this auction even ships.

Jailbreak'd iPhone spotted at Apple store

Jailbreak'd iPhone spotted at Apple store

In what measures out to be the ultimate ownage against Apple, this image was captured at an Apple retail store of a Jailbreak'd iPhone on display. While Apple has been trying to keep up with third-party developers with new firmware upgrades, the hackers are always two steps ahead of the Cupertino giant, and evidently, some Apple employees are even starting to dig playing around with Installer.app. Now that this picture is out in the open, we're pretty confident that Apple stores will be blocking jailbreakme.com from their WiFi connections. Either a customer is playing a joke on them, or an employee is down with the dark side.

10 new NTT DoCoMo FOMA 905i handsets

10 new NTT DoCoMo FOMA 905i handsets

While us, here in the United States, might be lucky to have two highly-anticipated phone release a month, Japan has the luxury of having NTT DoCoMo busting out cool new phones by the truckload. DoCoMo announced 10 new FOMA 905i handset devices, among these featured are the Panasonic Viera P905iTV and 5 MP Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot SO905iCS. Much like other phones sporting the Viera brand, the P905iTV is all about the mobile TV, featuring a 1Seg 15fps broadcast rate for an impressive 30fps on their 3.5-inch 480 x 854 pixel display, while also managing to pack in HSDPA support in the typical NTT style and a battery capable of 1-month of standby time. The Cyber-shot SO905iCS on the other hand, focuses on the photography aspect, featuring a 5 MP camera with a 3x optical zoom lens, face recognition technology, and anti-shake stabilization (though no Xenon flash, SE opted for a LED glow).
