After what seems like an eternity, T-Mobile will be releasing the Samsung T639 - the first 3G handset from T-Mobile. This quad-band GSM/EDGE and WCDMA 1700 clamshell will up available for sale at selected T-Mobile stores in New York City. It is compatible with T-Mobile's 3G network that surprisingly, isn't even up and running at the moment. Guess this means T-Mobile is prepping itself for a 3G network launch in some markets sometime down the road, although a concrete date has not been set yet. AT&T will be offering the new LG CU920 Prada cellphone, which would mean having a couple of touchscreen handsets duke it out over the same network.
